    Description

    Antique Chinese lacquered box large enough to hold any number of treasured objects, books, letters, etc. No markings. Box is old, exact age unknown. From recent local Asian estate sale. Lacquered unknown material. Panels depict Chinese scenes in miniature on all panels. Shimmery coppery burgundy gloss finish. Plain lacquered bottom. Brass metal hinges and double cylinder latch. Lid lined with similar Chinese scenes. Lacquered interior compartment is plain. Scenes on panels depict men, women, children, pagodas, temples, royal life, elephants, landscapes. Several areas of old touch-up where lacquered image worn off on front panel. Age evident, as shown in photos. Good, clean, odor free condition.
