This motor and adapter plate have been designed to replace the original motor found in the title drum of the Seeburg V-200, VL-200, KS-200 and KD-200.
I contacted Ross Blomgren who devised this solution and he sent me this information:
"Yes, these were replacements for V and KD drum motors. You need to reuse the original motor cam and mount the plate with grommets.
The motors are 24 VAC and worked well but are a bit noisy."
In July of 2014 another customer reported that the motor he received turned the wrong direction, but later sent this message:
"It's a simple enough task to remove the two bolts on the end plate and swap the windings around. Having now done this I can report that the drum is rotating happily in the right direction.
Thanks to yourself and Ross. I would re-list the item as they are a good replacement for the original motor."
In March of 2016 Zuddie Smith bought one of these motors and sent me the following information concerning his installation:
"Hello Bill, I received the motor and have installed it. Just though you would like to know the motor does run the wrong direction and turning the coil over got the motor going in the correct direction.
Note in the picture the wire terminals are against the motor. You also need to cut 3/8 inch off the shaft or it will not work. I mounted it in rubber, like the original motor, and it was very quiet.
A little super glue fixed the broken plastic. Thanks again and be safe Zuddie".
In addition to that he also sent four photos which I have posted at the bottom of this description.
So in the future I would suggest that anyone buying one of these motors test the rotation prior to installation to make sure it is turning the correct direction for use in the Seeburg title drum.
Please note that the white plastic insulation on the motor windings has been repaired using epoxy.
