    Description

    Up for sale is this fine vintage Chinese carved red cinnabar lacquer lidded Hu form jar with archaic form style design and extraordinary carvings throughout. Bulbous base and very evenly shaped and elegant body.
    We see stylized beasts / animals and large taotie mask motifs. The base has a beautiful Greek key scroll border and, overall, the details are thicker and very interesting. The lid also has the matching archaic design with a nice flower finial.
    Comes from a high end estate and one of many wonderful Chinese cinnabar carved arts available this week!
    This piece is in superb condition - looks pretty much perfect! I believe dates to the late Republic / PRoC period, vintage 20th C circa 1940s or 1950s.
    Measures about 7.5” inches tall and 4.5” inches wide. (19.1 cm, 11.4 cm).
    Would make a fantastic display piece, fine addition to a collection, or a great gift!
